Pastor Shelley McNew was born and reared in Nocona TX where she attended the First Methodist Church there.  Early in her life she felt the call to ministry.  After serving as the youth director and secretary at the Nocona church for 12 years, she enrolled in classes at Midwestern University in Wichita Falls.  After graduating with a degree in sociology, Pastor Shelley began the Course of Study program through the Methodist church to become a licensed local pastor.  She has served the Byers, Holliday, and Dundee Methodist churches before being assigned to Oak Grove in 2011.  She will continue her studies to become commissioned as an elder and hopefully continue on to ordination in the church.

Shelley and her husband David have 3 children (Kirk, Kara, and Blake) and 2 grandchildren (Ryan and Wyatt) who live in the Metroplex.

Her favorite hymn is “Lord of the Dance,” and her favorite scriptures are Proverbs 3: 5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight;" and Psalm 100: "Make a Joyful noise unto the Lord, Come into His presence with singing."
