Welcome to the Oak Grove United Methodist Church’s Website. I hope you enjoy viewing all the pictures and reading about our Ministry and Missions.
After I was appointed here in July, 2011, my husband David and I felt very welcomed and at home with the Congregation here. Our time has been meaningful and purposeful.
The members serve faithfully in many ways in the Ministry of Oak Grove. On Tuesdays, the women and men gather at 10:00 a.m. at the church for a devotion, prayer, and service. The men help maintain the building and grounds, as well as help with any other projects the women need them to do.
We learn together by participating in short-term Bible Studies one day a week. This church loves music, too. We have Hymnfest in our Sunday Worship services, where the congregation requests their favorite hymns. Our church hosts a 5th Sunday Singing, a wonderful tradition where many people come to enjoy singing traditional gospel music led by Blake Boyd and joined by musicians/singers from all over the area.
Regardless of your background or previous church affiliation, we welcome everyone. We seek to maintain Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors.
We are a church that supports mission work around Wise County such as WARM, Meals on Wheels, the Hospital Auxiliary, Sonflower Camp, just to name a few.
We invite you to join us and experience the unconditional love of God, the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit.
Please try us. We would love to share our hospitality and friendship with you. Thank you again for viewing our website.
Blessings of grace and peace,
Pastor Shelley McNew
